Meet Lauren
With a BSc in Engineering, an MSc in Geology, and 15 years of experience in the resource industry, I have a deep understanding of the Earth's systems and the impact of human activity on them. As a parent and municipal councillor for Squamish, I’ve been driven to advocate for change, including opposing a proposed pipeline camp and pushing for gender equity and individual rights.
Working with my council and municipal staff, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges our communities face—especially the growing burden of mental health, housing, and climate change. It’s clear that our problems are systemic, with government subsidies to big industry leaving municipalities to shoulder the costs.
As your MP, I’ll focus on creating a sustainable future by advocating for:
Social and economic equity, especially for marginalized groups and women
Food security and support for local agriculture
Higher taxes for large corporations and incentives for small businesses
Environmental stewardship and a fair transition to a green economy
Electoral reform
The elimination of fossil fuel subsidies
Locally, I’m committed to fostering prosperity by connecting people and businesses across the region who are dedicated to positive change. Together, we can build a brighter future through community support.
